At LOYAL MUSE, materials are never chosen simply because they are beautiful.

Some pieces begin with sterling silver or brass at the bench. Others begin with a stone, a crystal, a medallion, an image, or an unexpected object that sparks an idea.

The result is jewelry created through a combination of material, handwork, and instinct — pieces designed to feel collected rather than mass produced.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver has been treasured for centuries for both its beauty and its substance.

Made from 92.5% pure silver, sterling is a precious metal that can be worn, cared for, polished, repaired, and enjoyed for generations.

Unlike plated jewelry, sterling silver is not simply a surface finish. The silver runs through the piece itself, allowing it to develop a natural patina over time and be restored again and again.

As the value of silver has risen, the material itself has become increasingly significant. But at LOYAL MUSE, the value of a sterling silver piece is never measured by metal alone.

It is also found in the hours spent sawing, forming, soldering, forging, texturing, setting, and finishing each piece by hand.

Brass & Pewter

Not every beautiful material needs to be precious metal.

Brass brings warmth, richness, and an old-world quality that works beautifully alongside sterling silver, stone, and darker finishes. Left naturally bright or allowed to develop patina, it changes subtly with time and wear.

Pewter offers something entirely different.

Its softness allows it to take on deep impressions and remarkable surface detail, making it especially suited to the textured and sculptural work created at the LOYAL MUSE bench.

Both materials are selected for what they bring to the design — not as substitutes, but as materials with their own distinct character.

Stone, Crystal & Glass

Color often begins the story.

Natural stones, crystals, glass beads, rosary-style chains, and other small elements are selected for their tone, texture, movement, symbolism, or simply for the way they make a piece feel.

Natural stone carries variation by nature. Veining, inclusions, tonal shifts, and irregularities are part of what makes each one individual.

Crystal and glass can bring light, contrast, depth, and unexpected color.

Rather than matching every component perfectly, LOYAL MUSE pieces often bring together materials that feel as though they were collected over time.

Resin & Preservation

Resin is used at LOYAL MUSE as a creative medium for layering, preserving, and adding dimension.

It allows imagery, paper, texture, pigment, and small elements to be captured within a piece and protected beneath a clear surface.

In some designs, resin becomes almost invisible — simply preserving what lies beneath it. In others, it becomes part of the composition itself, adding depth, gloss, contrast, or color.

It is one more material that allows a small object to become something worth keeping.

The Maker's Hand

Materials are only the beginning.

Many LOYAL MUSE pieces pass through numerous stages before they are finished — sawing, forming, soldering, forging, filing, texturing, oxidizing, setting, polishing, casting, layering, assembling, and refining.

Sometimes the process begins with a sketch.

Sometimes it begins with a piece of metal.

And sometimes it begins with a stone, an antique-inspired medallion, a bead, or an object that simply refuses to be ignored.

That process means subtle variations are expected.

A hammer mark may remain visible. A forged surface may not be perfectly uniform. A stone may differ slightly from another. A hand-finished edge may carry the evidence of the tool that shaped it.

These are not flaws.

They are part of the language of handmade work.
